Buddhas, Lithops, and Stonecrop, Oh My!
It’s getting warm again thus begins my dabbling with gardening. Perennials, Annuals, Forget It I’m Not Going to Grow For Yous, oh so much to learn and pick from! This is my 3rd year at having a yard to try a garden in and frankly, I’m sick of shopping for the typical annuals that require tons of water in the dry summer. I wanted something I could plant and that’s that. That’s when I remembered something I saw in one of my mom’s issues of Better Homes and Gardens, a rock garden. Little care needed, the plants required live all year around, and they’re gorgeous!
I gathered up all my old aquarium rock decor, the necessities, uprooted the Hens and Chicks that survived the neighbors cat from last year, and the source of inspiration and the central focal point of the garden – a 3 foot tall Buddha statue that Michael bought me for my birthday. And let the gardening commence.
The biggest pain in the ass of the entire operation was digging out the trenches for the cement borders and actually getting them to lie the way I wanted them to. For the record, we live on the edge of the city and let me tell you the bugs you find out here are total science fiction alien time. I’ve seen things out there that I’ve only witnessed as specimens in a museum. *shudders*
So take a peek at the start of my new Rock Garden!

I love the idea! I love growing plants (not in the garden though) but I always forget to water them and such.
Your garden looks awesome ^^
That’s what I love about the rock garden plants, they really don’t require any care! You should give it a try!
